The ins and outs of living in Thailand

Cost of Living (Residence, Water, Electric)
An average apartment will cost about 2500 – 3000 for an apartment or small condo with air-conditioning. At home, if you’re living alone, your water bill will probably be around 200 baht, your electricity bill around 500 baht, but this will rise dramatically if you make regular use of the air-conditioning for long periods (instead of fans).

  Food & Restaurants
Fruits and vegetables are inexpensive and most fruits cost about 20 - 40 baht per kilo. However, while in season some popular local fruits like rambutans sell for, even less, 15 baht a kilo.

The cost of meats on the other hand tend to me more expensive and very greatly in price. Chicken, pork, and beef usually costs about 50, 80, and 100 baht per kilo respectively while fish costs between 30 and 100 baht per kilo depending on the type of fish.

    Thai Food Costs
Saraburi has a wide variety of restaurants and street side vendors to choose from. An average Thai meal (food and drink) can be purchased in a restaurant for approximately 100 - 150 baht per person. Or if you prefer you can purchase a variety of Thai meals from street side vendors starting at only 30 baht per person.

    Western Food Costs
While Saraburi is not Bangkok in terms of western food availability western meals are still widely available. However, if you want some “real” home cooking you will most likely have to opt for purchasing the ingredients at one of the local grocery stores and cooking it at home.
